This picture tells a story …… let me share that with you ❤️

This is not just a picture of my son, in his element climbing up a rock. This picture represents growth, courage, strength, compassion and love.

My boy has had some rough years, there has been so many outbursts fueled with rage, so many nerves built up in his little belly, so many people that have misunderstood him and his needs, lots of tears and trials and conversations and patience.

I love my sonny boy for all that he has taught me in his short lil life. He taught me how to be patient, more understanding, how to love so deep that it hits my soul, he taught me resilience, he has taught me how to heal, he showed me how I could be what I wanted to be, he showed me how to be a better mumma and for all these things I am always grateful to him.

Something else we have learnt along the way is how important it is to surround ourselves with community. People who lift us up and offer love and support along this amazing journey called life. People who love on my boy as much as I love on him. People who encourage him and push him when he needs it. People who take him exactly the way that he is and accept every piece of his cheeky lil personality. You know those people that genuinely care.

For us as humans all we want is to feel accepted and love. Shit as an adult that’s all I want so for our tamariki, our children, you can imagine just how important that is to them. To feel a part of something. To feel the warmth of the community that surrounds them.

My surfing mums community is just that for us. They hold us, they love us, they embrace us for who we are, they teach us and they heal us through the ocean, through culture & through their precious time. This is so much more than just a surfing school, this is our COMMUNITY. These are our people and I am so very grateful to be a part of it. WE are so very grateful ❤️ love you my whanau…….. we are totally a vibe.
